The Core Values Driving DMK Equestrian.
The values of safety, respect, and personalised care underpin my approach at DMK Equestrian Ltd, helping to deliver outstanding equestrian services and create lasting relationships with riders and their horses.
DMK Equestrian Ltd: My Story.
My passion for horses began when I was eight years old when I asked my parents if I could have a riding lesson. During my first lesson I decided that i wanted to be a riding instructor. The next nine years were spent working weekends in riding schools in return for lessons, hacking and stable managemnt where quite honestly I was completely hooked! Next was taking my BHS Exams. My next ten years were spent working in Spain with the amazing andalusian and arabian horses where I taught all levels of riders and competed in dressage, long distance riding and showjumping with my own horse. Upon returning to the UK I worked as Chief Instructor at a BHS Examination centre in London where I coached students to take their BHS Exams for a few years. I then applied for and was selected for a job in Qatar at the prestigous Al Shaqab Riding Academy which was the most incredible equestrian facility I have ever seen. Here I taught all abilities but focused on developing the national teams for dressage and jumping. With this came opportunities to travel to New York to teach and train and after that in the Netherlands and France.
My move to North Yorkshire.
What all horsey people dream of.....I bought a lovely small holding and together with my two gorgeous mares and my dog..... (and apparently a now "neglected" husband) we started our new adventure. Whilst I am probably the smallest riding school in North Yorkshire, with that comes a very bespoke and personal service. My Chestnut Esme was bought in Spain, she is half Andalucian and Half Arabian (hispanoarabe), just broken and with a lot of hard work she has become the most special horse I have ever owned. She is so incredibly loving and always wants to do her best, she is fondly known by her friends as Princess Sparkles. My Piebald is Keeva from Galway, Ireland. She is still young but is so incredibly gentle and laid back enabling all level of riders to enjoy her. Keeva lives upto being a Cob and whilst a child could lead her around like a dog she can jump a cross country course at 1m for fun.
